Buckling Spring vs Blue Alps

Thread Starter

Hey guys.

At this point in time I have noticed a pair of interesting keyboards at my local thrift shop. Both are made in the 80's. One has blue alps switches and the other has the classic buckling springs (model m). Which do you guys think would be better? I can't test them out myself because the guy at the store is scared that I'll steal keycaps or something if I'm allowed to touch them.

I like the feel of both types of key switches equally but prefer the Model M because its keys are arranged so they curve. The only drawback to the Model M is its key switches being noisier.

Get them both, buckling springs are loud as heck but super fun to type on and alps switches are nice and soft but still super fun to type on. The old Model M had only 2KRO so I wouldn't recommend that for gaming.
