What hosting would you recommend? - Page 2

I use Chicago VPS. Cheap ($21/quarter) for 3GB RAM, 100GB storage (SSD cached, I believe), and 2.5TB bandwidth. It runs OpenVZ, which I have CentOS 6.4 installed on both of mine.

I use NginX as a front end proxy for Apache, along with Varnish for Caching. This is all for multiple WordPress sites (3 on the VPS I use for personal stuff, and 2 larger sites on the VPS I host for a customer I work with on the side). The largest site is an eCommerce store, which gets about 1,200 views a day. Google PageSpeed currently rates the site at 92/100, which is pretty good considering I spent less than 3 hours configuring all the backend stuff. I could probably raise that score in a matter of 15 minutes by compressing some images in my theme. For what it's worth, Google PageSpeed rates OCN at 88/100.

Oh, and I use GoDaddy for domain registration, and CloudFlare for CDN and DNS.

Oh I don't provide hosting like that. I was stating that I pay for a cheap VPS that I manage myself, and get better performance than I would from shared hosting. At $7/mo, it's as cheap (or possibly cheaper) than shared hosting.

I see a site called Dreamhost that is doing a special with lifehacker which you can get 1 year sub of hosting for 19.95$ and after that it goes back up to 8-9$ hosting. When you enter the promo code, they give you two free domain registration and what not. It looks interesting to me and I might bite and just go for it. Don't know if this is the type of thing you're looking for.

If you're interst the promo code is Lifehacker2013 and you have until october 25,2013 before it ends
