That doesn't really change anything. Scaling problems aside, reference 7990 quadfire should be done only when water cooling.

Got two of them installed

Im surprised the temps are actually cooler than I thought its idles at 44,43,43,41 at most times and at maximum load of 73 degrees playing Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs, Splinter cell black list, heaven benchmark for 15 minutes, Farcry 3, Dirt 3, hitman absolution so far those are the games I tested and they all maxed at 73-78 gotta make sure u make a custom fan profile for it cuz the default fan profile sucks. there one good trick i bought a Delta 5200 RPM 120mm fans and slap them in front of the gpu running at 4300 rpm while gaming and it cools it really good

Overall im happy with the purchase and definetly don't need a watercooling on these gpu unless i wanna overvolt and overclock the living daylight out of it.

Now another thing i did to keep the temps down inside the case is that i reverse the side panel fan from intake to exhaust so instead of the hot air blowing all over inside the case the side panel suck the hot air out of the gpu and blow it outside and it keeps the temp inside of the case cool

keep your setting one more year as it already really overkill for a single 1080p and get the next gen cards or wait for true perf update , because you wont notice enough difference to justify the cost atm.

Glad to hear you're happy with them. thumb.gif

Post back your temps once you get a hold of that 4K display (or if you ever decide to try Eyefinity) for comparison. wink.gif

I recently purchased a 7990. Do you have issues with the usage? I'm trying to figure out why my cards wont hit 99% on both gpus. I only have one. I have an I5 2500k @ 4.8. On 1080p I can't hit 99% on both, but on triple setup it hits 99%. Is there something i'm doing wrong? Let me know thanks!!!!
