But regarding bass I don't think a basshead will find any Sennheiser product adequate (besides HD25). All their headphones tend to aim for a very flat and "laid back" sound especially HD500/600 onwards. You'd probably lean more towards something from Audio Technica (PRO series), AKG, Denon, Sony or Pioneer...combined with an AMP/DAC with a bass-boost function, thump thump thump
sooooo true. Don't get me wrong they sound amazing for $50 but that cable kills it for me. My Ultrasone DJ1 pack a nice punch so I'm happy with these.
If I HAD to order the Beats lineup from best to worst when it comes to headphones and not IEM's, it would go Mixr, Pro, Executive, 2013 Studios, Solo. The Mixrs sound almost like my headphones but the Best Buy station replayed "Promises" by Nero and the bass completely eliminated the highs of the vocals. Solos are literally straight from the Underworld. You'd have to be deaf to think those sound amazing. The 2013 Studios are a huge improvement over the old version but they're still extremely overpriced, especially considering my $120 cans murder them (cleaner bass, more treble, better bass response). Pros sound like mine 'cept with a weaker bass impact. I have yet to hear a pair of Beats cans that can handle low bass responses. The Studios I had literally would not pick up anything below 20hz.
