how to layout fans on the arc midi r2? remove both hard drive bays?

so i just got my arc midi r2 case and it comes with the 3 pre-installed. 1 as intake, and 2 as exhaust. now, i know its better to have positive pressure, and the way it is now i dont think it will get that. so would it be better if i keep the back fan where it is, un-install the top fan and put it in the front slot, so i end up with 2 front intake and the 1 back exhaust.

another question is dealing with the hard drive bays. i am going to remove the middle 5bay tray. but my question is, since i am going to have 2 fans in the front, should i go ahead and remove the bottom tray as well as it wont impede on the fans intake? i only have an ssd and a regular hard drive. with the ssd, i could put it behind the back of the panel hiding it in essence and freeing up cable management. but what i was thinking was maybe putting the hdd in where you can put optical drives. unless thats not a good idea.

Removing them both will help airflow. You can always put it back in if you ever need it. wink.gif

i guess the main thing im trying to acquire is, where would it be optimal place for the hdd to be placed at if i remove both bays. is it ok to put it on the lower optical drive area?

It should be fine there. Keep an eye on it's temperature for awhile to be sure but should be no problem. I've done it several times and never had any issues.

FYI, I run all PWM fans on PWM splitter with Molex power connector so case fan speed is regulated the same as CPU fan. Make everything quieter unless gaming or working system hard. Not suggesting you do it. Just and FYI for future knowleldge. wink.gif
