maybe someone can explain this to me. I use a PC monitor on my PS4 which is DVI so If I HDMI-DVI from my monitor everything is perfect of course but once I try to play a bluray it will start in 1080p then auto down convert to 480p & I cant do anything about it. BUT once I hook up an HDMI splitter HDMI-HDMI to splitter then HDMI-DVI out to monitor Bam. Instant 1080p blurrays on PS4.

I just dont get it or why its doing this.

Seems that it's a common problem with the PS4 and HDMI to DVI cable :[ No fix in sight that I know of.

On a side note look who I found O.o

Been playing Black Flag alot recently, loving it. The Sea combat is nice, be it a bit easy. Minus the huge legendary ships. The Mortar is SO overpowered its been tearing ships apart before they can even reach me. Some of them can be tough tough. Loving the storms i just wish they affected other ships as well as it just seems my ship is affected by storms and gets pulled all over the place.

I've been hearing good things about Ground Zeros. Even though the campaign can be finished in about 2 hours, there's easily 10-20 hours worth of content if not more

HDCP Protection. The splitter probably strips the protection. The HDMI-DVI probably isnt HDCP-compliant, so it downscales to 480p

Having so much fun though my first run took me about 2 hours. Now I'm looking for all the patches and tapes and it's been hours already O.o

Could be but if it didn't strip it wouldn't he have a black screen though?

never actually used anything that wasnt HDCP protected, so I honestly don't know what happens. I just guessed at the issue :/

ok then how do you know if your cable is HDCP? I could always buy another cable which is not a problem.

Wish i could help but i didn't do a lot of research on "AVerMedia Game Capture HD II C285" because it was so bulky and the one review i did read on it said it was good but recommended the AVerMedia Live Gamer Portable over that one due to its versatility.. For me it was mostly Elgato vs LGP and choose the AVmedia because of the Record button on the device and also the option to record my commentary with any Mic hooked up to my computer and save it as a separate audio file from the recorded footage so i can edit later and put them back together in vegas and render it!
I have mine setup as PS4 to HDMI Splitter to AVermedia LGP to Display. Im not using the second port on my HDMI Splitter yet, going to get a 30foot HDMI cable and run it to my TV so i can play PS$ on my Monitor or my 60" or both!

Oh right so I will need 3 HDMI cables. All of my HDMI cables are either 1.3 or 1.4... I hope it wont be a problem.

I also heard that the portable one is better in terms of being portable but I am still fine with the C285. At least I wont purchase a SD card and can use my old usb HDD rolleyes.gif
