For those interested in PS VR, Driveclub is being prototyped in Paris Games Week. Developer said if there was enough interest, which he was sure there would be, the game would support VR in the future.

So far the prototype worked flawless in VR. 1080p and 60fps. Yes 60, not 30... Though they had to lower car numbers to 8 from 12, remove rear mirror etc...

I've heard that even 60fps for VR is not that great. Some VR companies aim for 90 fps or even 120p per side.

Problem is that 3d is horrible at keeping fps up, constantly suffering dips which can really mess with your mind. Painful, sickness, dizzy are some of the most common. Driving games are some of the best types of games as it enhances the feeling of speed but also the worst in 3d for the downfalls of fps dips.

IF the game says its 60fps then its actually 30fps as your fps are split between eyes, 30+30. 120fps is 60 fps when split between eyes. You would want 240fps if you want 120fps per eye tongue.gif

That is what I am afraid about

I even get motion sickness with most first person shooter games, especially those with very low FoV.

VR is probably not for me

I can see issues with head tracking and fps dips. Some counters to fps dips on console is by limiting controller movement speed. The same idea would would be implimented for head tracking. Problem is when looking around you would turn your head as you would in real life. Try looking around in slow motion ie controller locked turn speed but with your head instead of look stick on the controller.

You have to reduce graphics or objects on screen tonmake it work. My titan with med/low setting could keep me at 25-50fps in most games if thats any indication of the power needed to drive 3d and thats not vr 3d.

That said im all in lol, ill help fund the movement. At least ill get a larger audience for all my 3d pics and vids thumbsupsmiley.png

Give me VR with 240Hz that acts as a monitor and I'll be set. The awkward head movement, constant readjusting, and severe lack of precision would drive me crazy.

Finally some good news :

First Nier: Automata gameplay ! It is 60fps and looks absolutely beatiful both visually and from the gameplay side of things.

I agree with that, but honestly Demon's Souls has to be remade. The game suffers so much from being stuttering and PS3 only its unreal.

I don't even have a PS3, but Demon's Souls for it, I can't play it, because Sony doesn't do Backwards Compatability like Xbox One does frown.gif
