So, I played The Division beta.
Graphically the downgrade is significant, I'm not bothered by that personally. What does bother me is that the game doesn't feel fluid. Destiny at 30 fps is smooth, this isn't really the case with this game.
Character movements are fine but the the low FPS (definitely below 30 fps in many areas) causes me to miss frequently.
The AI isn't good, they have some rushing types with bats, they just blindly run straight into your fire. Snipers just stand there and the rest just peek from cover and occasionally advance towards you some.
The story is really cheesy and the characters you come across are bland.
The missions are your standard RPG type, clear X area, retrieve Y item, or kill Z person. Nothing special here.
Now, what killed the game the most for me was the Dark Zone. Once you step foot into the DZ anybody can kill you at any given time, even your own group. If somebody runs straight into your line of fire you go rogue and get killed instantly.
If you're running solo people will just follow behind you and shoot you in the back 9 / 10 times when you're busy and steal all your gear.
If you run in a group (randoms) they will just kick you from the group last second and kill you, then steal all your gear.
If you're really unlucky you'll enter the DZ and be killed the second you walk through the door by griefers camping the spawn.
From what I understand there is only 1 DZ going to be put in the game, there were 3, but they got cut for DLC. $$$$
This is no different from Destiny's lack of content. You're going to run the same raid over and over until you have everything then quit from boredom.
I'd give it a 6.5 / 10 excluding the DZ. With the DZ being the main component of the game it's the least exciting part of it. I'd have to give it a 3 / 10. This game is a griefer's paradise with a severe lack of content from day 1.
I'm absolutely desperate for a new shooter game to play and I can't even bring myself to play this.
