While everyone would've liked for the Pro to be even faster, Sony had to deal with backwards compatibility with the og PS4. Compromises had to be made for that to happened. If you read anandtechs article on the Pro its enlightening. The PS5 i'd wager will be more than twice the power of the Pro given the total freedom of choosing whatever they want to power the system. By that time, we'll be at the end stage of 14nm production or further. Imagine that sort of power in a console?
*Nevermind keeping the price under $400. It seems to be the sweet spot for pricing. Remember, the PS3 @ $500 did not sell well initially.
