Step 6: Redesign of the Motherboard Tray and a quick switch to finish the Aspros Mod for PDX Lan!
So you can see this is where I am at the moment. I have redesigned the MB tray to fit the whole back. I have had a few more ideas for this mod and the result of which has forced me to finish the Aspros Mod so I didnt compromise on any of the details. I will show you why I decided this.
You can see in this pic where the MB tray was off in a few spots, I probably could of gotten away with some dremeling but it was more then just cutting in a few spots....
You can see in these two photos where it was off just a tiny bit, and even less when I would fasten the MB tray down, but I could not live with this. My OCD simply does not allow for me to leave this so I need to redo the whole motherboard tray for a 3rd time.
You can see where I tried to make it work with some quick dremeling, however even though this is without me filing it straight, I noticed the rest of the errors before I continued too far.
Here is a nice idea of what the top will look like.
Its at this point that I realized I want to go full cpu watercooling and I wanted to use hardline with Mayhems Pastel Yellow Fluid. But switching such a huge part of this mod at the last minute did not leave me with a realistic window to have it done before I goto PDX Lan. So I made the extremely hard choice to switch fully over to the Aspros - which I am sure many will be happy about as they have been waiting for a long time for it to be done.
However this leaves me in a extremely hard spot to order from 3 different spots and order 1day shipping from each... So I will have at least 3-4 good nights and days with no sleep to get this project done. First on the list of things to do is to do some final dremeling to the case, design the final custom panels, and do a fully hard-lined - fully watercooled mod in 3 days before I have to fly out on Thurs. to PDX Lan. Wish me luck, I am going to need it.Edited by Lutro0 - 11/2/13 at 9:11pm
