Water cooling for a n00b...

So the time has come for me to water cool. I noticed a temp increase to 78-80 Celsius while gaming, so I dropped my clock back to default and ran a benchmark on Heaven... same thing. I took the side panel off of my case and noticed that there's an incredible amount of heat sandwiched between my GPU and Essence sound card.

Basically, if I want to maintain an overclock without throttle, it seems that it's time to put some water to her. This will give me the chance to properly OC the CPU and GPU to the max also, which is what I've been wanting to do.

The problem lies in the fact that I've never even researched the area and have no idea how to approach this project. I've looked around and can't really find a definitive guide. My specs are as follows:

GPU: EVGA GTX 670 (Reference)
CPU: i5 3570k
RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengeance
MOBO: Asus P8Z77-V Pro
Case: Antec One Illusion

All wires are properly routed inside of my case and I use a duster bi-weekly(Every 2 weeks).

Temps hover around 78-82 Celsius in Heaven. GPU reaches these temps by scene 10-12. I have a fan curve set to run at the max 80% by 68 Celsius, but that barely holds off temps.

As of this writing, I'm going to get some thermal paste to see if that drops the temps a little. Any thing to help me get started with the water cooling solution is appreciated.

I would suggest finding a case more suited to watercooling, then look through the forum at previous builds in that particular case for ideas thumb.gif
