Overpriced board, though looks like you wanted it to match your GPU which is fine i guess.
Frequency of ram makes no difference in gaming, also 8gb is more than enough for a gaming buid.
280X Matrix, nice.
Aesthetics played a role, I can't lie...but I most definitely wanted a power supply to give me breathing room for potentially Crossfiring. The board was chosen based on features and aftermarket support, but I was a hair away from pulling the trigger on a UD3H, but I figured more people might have the Hero so forum and peer support played a role there. As I also suggested, this is not just a strictly gaming build, so I figured an extra 8 gigs or RAM wouldn't hurt, and gives me that much more breathing room for the future...
Only thing I'm worried about now is the choice of GPU. Since it's a 3 slot card, could I potentially just crossfire it with another 2 slot 280x and call it a day? It looks like there will be room for two 3 slot cards should I go that route, but I just don't know how the card in the top slot would be able to breath because they'll be right on top of each other lol...
