[Various] New Benchmarks Reveal The R9 290x Leading Over GTX Titan - Page 3

Regardless if the 290X beats the Titan or not one thing is becoming clear and that is AMD might of just brought the competition back, and that is a good thing. I for one am waiting patently for the NDA's to lift so we all get more information.

I'm all for AMD bringing the GPU wars back with mega performance, but should we really be excited by the 290x beating the titan by less than 10% when given an extra 8 months to release their cards. Right about now, NVIDIA should be starting to clear inventory for their next cards in the coming 4-6 months.

AMD is crazy if those are the prices! Why would you even consider a 290 if the X was 60ish dollar difference?

If so, then that would make more sense. Have they given a timeline of their next launch?

Been a debate that the earliest for 20nm (Nvidia Maxwell) would be april next year. Most feel June is the most optimistic reality. Many sites have stated Nov next or inferred it was at least a year from last month. So I guess no one is sure.

Well when you get the same performance at a far lower cost, a performance level that typically requires high res monitor(s) to use, I think we should be allowed to get excited. Plus the extra ram vs the 780 from both the 290 and 290x, greater opencl power (this one obviously isn't requiring any benchmarks) and for some, a new high end card to bench.
