[Various] New Benchmarks Reveal The R9 290x Leading Over GTX Titan - Page 5

Ummm..... a bunch of people here just sell off their cards as soon as the fastest thing comes out? I mean, i had a reason for it (used to have GTX 580) so i got a 2x performance boost over that alone. But it seems some people are willing to sell off cards for something only 10% faster.....

i just dunno, i would myself wait for Maxwell or even Volta to get the 2x faster card over a single Titan, whichever AMD or Nvidia it may be.

True, No way i'm spending money on a new GPU every year. I got the 7950 for a steal and already got a buyer for it. Getting the R9 290X as it seems to be the fastest single GPU out there and won't be upgrading for a while thumb.gif

I don't honestly think he cares if the 290x beats the Titan as long as it's done on the best drivers for it, which just makes good sense.

True, about the drivers being the best drivers for the Titan should be used.. But what about the 290, the drivers are new, so im guessing that the FPS will rise with newer drivers no. Which means beating the titan at a higher percentage..

Well, I only play EA games and having 100 % support from EA with mantle is a big + for me.
Also running 2x titans in BF4 makes my face lag as much as that game stutters. My single 7970 runs that game at a lower frame but much more fluid.

Do I plan to upgrade after the 290x for 10-20 % ? Only If I can't play my games properly.

He's going to get the same performance for 2/3 the price after selling them.+profit.

Those 290 scores look pretty great also. If they can overclock decently that'll be a great card.

Just bring down that price on the 780 as far as you can AMD. make it a worthless card plz. wink.gif

I am still very happy with my GTX 680 4GB gpu that I only bought 5 months ago, I had 2 580's but the heat and power draw was a bit much but I have one 580 running physx with my 680, and Metro LL runs very nice with a dedicated PhysX gpu.
I think i'll keep my 680 for a few years.
oh, got my 680 for $429 on sale. smile.gif

Right about now, NVIDIA should be starting to clear inventory for their next cards in the coming 4-6 months.

20 nm wont be ready until the end of next year soo yeah it going to be a boring year for graphics cards
