I'm not bashing anything. I'm analyzing the reasons.

By the way, I wanted to add on the above that an additional reason Titan is priced as a luxury product and not merely for its technological merits is that even if the 780 is slightly underpriced (they can't go too low, the chip of both cards is cut from the same Wafers hence the base cost of production is similar), it's at $650 and it would be very hard to believe you would add $350 to get to a "real" price for a titan hence titan almost certainly has a premium on its price, much beyond regular profits according to manufacturing costs.

edit: Even if we add the extra vram.

edit: Plus, what are the odds it's exactly $1000?

Sorry the comment was not towards you. But as for manufacturing cost, only a portion of the real cost. Titan have 1/3 DP. Also, it is price at 1k because nvidia want a super high end card. Considering how much K20X sells.

My plan has always been to double my 7970's but since AMD gave the finger to eyefinity users ( which it championed so fervently) I might just have to drop the ole' girl and get a 290x. Then my epeen will be new, long, and hard!

hahaha what you mean by AMD gave eyefinity users the finger? Do you mean their clunky drivers that caused all sorts of mayhem for us like black screen of death, driver crashes, and random restarts?

$1600 a pair? Not too bad , score for someone who wanted a pair of Titan's. I was set on a 780 myself for my SG05 build because of its size and power draw, However I may just be considering a 290X as well...

I can pay my bills fine, it's just to show what the extra money can be used for.

Good find! Can't wait to see the reviews in the morning. If the 290x is as good as these benches lead to believe then everybody wins, AMD and Nvidia owners.

I went by what it said at mydrivers. Well, that's what I think it means. It's also because, those screenshots that have been given are baseless and don't have an actual source. They were actually posted in the comment section. I tried searching for them at pceva but I couldn't find them. It maybe because of the poor translator google has. Unless someone else could help me locate the source perhaps?
