Hi guys, first of all im new in the world of case modding so ill try my best to bring justice to the work im doing.

Let me introduce you to the case
Coolermaster Cosmos 1000

I bought this case to house my components because its cheap its only around £20 from ebay but i drove around 40miles to collect (its worth it because i didn't pay for the gas:thumb:)
anyway after ive seen a black cosmos 1000 i said to my self "why not paint mine as well" so this grand case mod adventure flip the switch on my brain. I also gonna try water cooling but that wont be this year( i hope december)

My inspiration is: ofc the OCN case mod forum ive seen epic mods here.
I will try to update as soon as i can.

Theme Red and Black

Ze componets:
  • CPU: Intel i5 4670k
  • Motherboard: MSI GD-65 Z87 Gaming
  • GPU: MSI R9 280x TF Gaming
  • RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X 2 x 4gb 1600
  • PSU: Corsair TX650M
  • HDD: WD Blue 1tb
  • SSD: havent think of it (suggestion needed)
  • Cooler: Corsair H100
Green: I have it
Red: not yet

I started dismantling the case which took forever because i didnt have a drill and i only borrowed one after im half way.

A million rivets later

For the modding. I cut a cardboard box (it's freakin hard, almost plastic like) into a mobo shape so i wont have to take the mobo out of the cage or look on the handbook everytime. I draw important ports ofc such as the atx pin etc etc.. I mounted it using only 3 standoffs. I also mask the mobo tray if you notice.

After careful planning measuring etc.. i marked where would the cable holes will go. i hope you can see it sorry for bad photography

Final markings. I decided to do only 3 as it exactly spot on the atx pin which will be nice for the sleeve cable. Have you notice my template for the cable holes? Its not that easy to make without a guide i tell you now. Grommets will come to those holes soon. here's the pic

ready for cutting

Where i got so far. the mobo tray is so thick! cut out for mobo for easy backplate changing. Modern cases have this why not the cosmos.

I think ive done well. Reward to meself

Well thats for now i will update soon hope you guys like it im open to advice and suggestion. thanks. tah!

mini update:

made a fan hole for a 120mm fan/radiator on front of case.

my drill smokes from using the holesaw so i gave up doing a hole.

the case body is painted and drying in the laundry. i should have done it for a long time but the weather is always bad here in UK mad.gifmad.gif
