nVidia will be dropping prices too, this is already confirmed. I seriously doubt either AMD card is going to be $549. I predict $599 and $699 for the 290 and 290x respectively at launch.
So 300$ cheaper, same performance then the titan and a free game and you still aren't convinced that those cards are better value then the titan? I mean sure titan is a great card, it was much earlier then the AMD one but today(not today, in a few days okay...) this all does not matter. Today you get a 700$ card that compete with a 1000$ card. Yesterday you could get 2 270$ card with 6 free games that outperformed by a large martin the 1000$ solution from Nvidia. No matter how you look at it, AMD is just beast for the value.
Fanboys are really blind, who care about the date of release of a gpu, what does matter is the pricing, the performance and the value you get out of a gpu you go and buy. Nvidia could bring down price and compete more fiercely with AMD, but I would not count on that. Titan was overpriced from release, I don't see them doing this... their 770s are in no mans land priced much higher then the similar performing card that is the 7970/280x and have been for quite a while. People still buy em cause all they see is green but anyone with the right mind look at the pricing scheme of nvidia and laugh a lot.
Even their own pricing is just wrong. You can get a 780 for 35% less then a titan and get 90% of the performance. It just does not add up at all.
