TBH I'm more interested in seeing what devs can do with the 9x more draw calls, greater CPU resources and trueaudio. On top of that the few extra fps is more the icing on the cake. I can only imagine how crazy Crysis devs would go biggrin.gif

Lol 40%?! My goodness, you are really gobbling up that pr teams speel.

I predict a lot of jealousy when the first OCNers get their hands on these and some waterblocks...

I've always ran a custom fan profile in either precision or afterburner with all my cards including the 7970. I don't find the stock profile very good from either company.

In the case of the Titan, the stock profile would end up hitting 80c and causing throttles in benches.

We weren't talking about Mantle. We were talking about drivers.

Looks that way. We're in the realm of make believe now though where we're waiting for drivers and Mantle. Mantle is probably going to be used in BF4 and maybe a couple of Frostbite games, other than that it's going to flop hard I suspect

Not really. So far it's been marketed as bringing console optimisations to PC, which as far as I can see is a huge performance boost - just look at the Xbox 360 specs. 40% is just a fraction of that.

20% is a reasonable minimum but it can become like really really much.
Kinda like Dirt gain over non AMD cards for all games while using GCN.

I don't hope this will form a gap between AMD and Nvidia though as AMD could deliver better performance on the same node which is extremely bad for us consumers.

Raja is looking over it we can expect a decent gain in games that use it.

couple of other? It's going to be used for ALL Frostbite games.

Lets just wait a few months till mantle is actually out before we start bowing to amd, and making claims of 40% performance gains. Remember amd like to talk big, see there twitter for example. Always taking jabs with no performance to prove it, pride always comes before the fall. All this is, is talk atm.
