Mouse Freeze With Sli 670's

Thread Starter
I just put in a new 670 today and the mouse freezes about every 20 seconds while on desktop and on internet. My original card was EVGA 670 4gb and I have never had a problem with it. My new card is a Zotac 670 4gb and I have used that for about 1 hour by itself. I ran Heaven, overclocked it a bit, played some BF3 etc. It didn't show any signs of a problem. It overclocked better then the EVGA to be honest.

At this point I have tried taking out cards and putting them back in. Also, I have reinstalled drivers from Nvidia and mouse driver from Kone. I have been using a Korean monitor at 110-120hz, but have since gone back to 60hz just to see if that was the problem...it wasn't. I read that firefox can be an issue with this, so I uninstalled firefox and am now on Chrome. There is no difference between the two with this problem. My keyboard as I type this is fine, I don't know if that makes a difference.

Also, my computer runs a lot slower with sli enabled. When I try to open a program, the screen will go black and take about 5-8 seconds for the program to start. This has happened with Precision, Nvidia control panel, and Prime 95 as well as others. Also, when I tried to shut down the computer it took a good 90-120 seconds before it would shut down completely.

My sig rig is up to date with the rest of my components with the exception of the ASUS soundcard, which I uninstalled this morning.

Just looking for some advice....Thanks.

I fixed this issue...pretty sure, I just need more time for testing...I did alot of things, but I think it was an issue with AVG. Switched to AVAST and no problem....weird...I will try later to see if it still works and post results for future reference for someone else.

Not sure if that was the problem, but will see later.

Even though you fixed it, sounds like a driver issue. I had a problem with Google Chrome where it would load slow every time I'd launch it when I added a second 670. Doing a clean driver sweep fixed my issue. I'd suggest giving that a try using this method of a clean sweep.

I updated to the new Nvidia drivers yesterday to get ready for BF4 and this problem has resurfaced. I have tried just about everything that I can think of. I've done multiple re-installs of the Nvidia drivers, uninstalled mouse drivers (I am currently switching between Deathadder 2013 and Kone Pure Optical to decide what I like better) and uninstalled/reinstalled chrome. Last time I cleared CMOS as a last ditch effort but not sure if that did anything.

I will try the CMOS thing this afternoon and any other suggestions that are left here. I did a clean driver install, but I think I missed a step from the above post, so I am going to try that again today.

Anyone else have any good suggestions. I would love to figure this out so I don't have to do this after every new driver install.

EDIT: This problem is caused by drivers and overclocking my monitor to 110hz (Or beyond). In the future I will have to do a clean wipe of drivers. It is working now, and I can recreate fixing the problem. Just letting people know so if someone runs into this problem in the future.
