Why do ppl straight lie to ppl to make something seem better. The 8350 have less single threaded power but more multithreaded power there great for gaming because there very cheap with a m5a97 board, and newer games are becoming more multithreaded.

No, he is quite correct in saying that there is no game out there optimized for full 8 cores. You will always have a thread primarily assigned to your OS, and another for background processes while gaming, so at minimum, you are looking at ~6 total core performance out of your FX-8350/9370/9590, with spill-over to other threads.

And even in games that are highly multi-threaded, but not depending on per core performance, Intel still almost always comes out on top.

On games that are highly multi-threaded, i.e. Civilization V, etc., it takes into account your total thread count and IPS/IPC, of which AMD has the total thread count, but not IPC. And in this case, Intel comes out GREATLY on top, especially with their CPUs with multi-threading.

AMD is great on a budget, but if you are looking for the best performance, even on highly threaded games, Intel still has no peer from AMD on that front. Its been beaten to death time and time again.

And btw, this was a flame bait thread by the OP. Heck, look at his name.

Until most consumers have 8+ core machines, games won't be written for them.

Your link proves my point: A 4 core i7 comes within .9fps of an 8 core FX.

It's also why Intel has focused on refining their chip architecture, instead of adding additional cores for it's consumer market.

AMD is far behind intel at the moment, and the performance gap continues to widen.
