[CHECK-UP] Sleeving AX860 & other cables

Thread Starter
Do I have everything?

It's for this build: The Monolith

I will be sleeving the AX completely, the SATA wires, fan cables etc...

Am I missing something?
(I have a heatgun)

Thanks in advance!

It all looks to be good, but if I may add a few suggestions...

You will want more sata sleeve and maybe 2 more sata hs - this is if you have not done them before.

A dumping pack is a buttload, also you may want to think color choices as it will blend your system nicely - try looking at red, color-x, gray, black and then pick a combo like red, gray, black (which is what I would do IMO) Or another good one is red, colorx, black.

3 color schemes are the best looking imo and they show that you took your time to make the cables a part of the system instead of hiding all your hard work.

You will want more HS as well I know 6X50 seems like allot but if you want to get them perfect you will burn through them quick.

Also I HIGHLY recommend getting my LC Sleeving Tool - this will speed up your hs style and allow you to easily get straight looking professional cables : https://lutro0-customs.myshopify.com/products/lc-sleeving-tool

Also a good snips is key: https://lutro0-customs.myshopify.com/products/lc-flush-cutter

And finally you will need the round molex extractor to get the 4pins removed: https://lutro0-customs.myshopify.com/products/round-4pin-extractor

And for the rest of the connectors you can use an exacto knife to get them off.

For heatshrink style I recommend a good heatgun : https://lutro0-customs.myshopify.com/products/heatgun

Also lastly - to know exactly how much sleeve and hs to buy check out my FAQ stickied to this subforum.

That should about cover it! Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the big response! (rep'd)

Some things:

I already have a heat gun (well, it's on its way tongue.gif )

And I have a "normal" (but very good and sharp) cable cutter, it that sufficient?

About colors:

For my Monolith, I chose for a as-clean-as-possible black "shadow" style (Similar to the Munderbox, but I doubt I can even get close to this masterwork redface.gif )

That's why I chose pitch black. (The original idea was a ROG style red-white-black, but the red will kill the black style)

Thanks a lot for the video's.

As long as its nice and sharp it will work, also try maybe black. shade19, and dark gray. Or just black and shade 19. Trust me you will be glad you didnt go all black.

Since you're the God of Sleeving, I think it's safe to trust you on this one redface.gif

Any advice on color ratio (how much black and how much shade19?) and order of colors?

Thanks (rep'd)

I am not a god of anything, I just like helping people to get into sleeving by getting them the knowledge and the perfect supplies and tools for their jobs. There is so many little details that can make or break a sleeving project.
