My GTX 780 Heaven Benchmark Score - Does This Seem Right?

Hey all,

So I just completed my new build yesterday and wanted to see what my rig can do. I ran the Heaven benchmark at 1080p, Ultra quality, 8xAA and Extreme tesselation. The program ran off of my HDD rather than my SSD. Here's what I came out with:

I haven't overclocked my CPU yet, I plan to do it in the future up to 4.0-4.2 Ghz. Overall, I was very satisfied until I saw one of my friends with similar specs show me his benchmark:

By all accounts, my 780 is better than his. I have the EVGA SC ACX and he has the MSI Afterburner. I'm not sure where the discrepancy is coming from, but I'd like to find out if I'm bottlenecking something or not getting the performance that I should be.

bench seems correct judging by a 780 is considered a 30 - 40% increase from my 670 and i get around 38 - 43 on a single.

does he have the benchmark on a faster hdd perhaps?

I believe thats probably right, the thing heaven doesn't show you is what his 780 is really running at, I just did a heaven pass with my 780 classy/3570k
the vid card is running 1274mhz/ram 6.9ghz/cpu running 4.2(all very modest OC's)

Edit: also if I ran heaven again my fps would be a lil higher due to cacheing, unless your pure ssd, I run a hybrid intel ssd smart caching setup with 2 1TB snail drives. Guarantee your friend has his 780/cpu clocked a lil higher than yours.

^ You were right, he has his 780 on a bit of an overclock. My GPU never seems to go back 76 C so I don't see why I can't do the same.
