Help Me choose a Monitor

Hey OC.net long time viewer but i never post.

I am seriously in a bind with my choice right now, I'm trying to decide between three different monitor options.

Option 1: 21:9 Ultra Wide Screen
Here is a example, there is a Dell, LG, and a ASUS.

Option 2: 27" IPS Display dont care about 3d, 120hz would be nice but not required.

Option 3: 37" TV, I have a very big desk and the TV would be 3-6' from my face, and i am leaning towards this option because a big display would be nice.

I am trying to stay under 400$ so if i decide a more expensive option i will just wait for a sale (hopefully sooner than later, ie xmas)

Also keep in mind i already have a second display that is mounted to my desk (24" panel) i will be keeping, so this is not a debate on two montiors vs one big one ect.

I currently have a 24" IPS display a love it, however it feels small to me now and i want something significantly bigger, and i feel like even a 27-30" display will disappoint.

and as for the ultra wide screen display i download blueray rips and most of them are in ultra widescreen and that would be nice, and the few games i play supports it.

Main use is gaming, i play 60-80hrs every two weeks of counter-strike as i am a semi-pro player. (and i don't think response time will bother me as i have used everything from horrible screens to good ones.)

I have been looking around and I ended up picking up an lg 32ln5300. They also have a 39 inch model. I found a thread on the avs forums about that particular series and followed their configurations and am pretty happy with it. Best part is the 32 I got was only $270 and the 39 isn't too expensive either.

I have decided to put that set in another room pick up a 27 inch monitor instead due to desk space. Might check that series of monitor out and that thread over on avs

i think ive narrowed it down to the ultra widescreen display ASUS model
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX48150

or the samsung 37" TV, or something in that range, i am still leaning towards the tv as a huge display would be nice.

If you really were a semi-pro CS player, then you'd be looking at BenQ monitors, not TVs and stupid aspect ratio monitors. wink.gif

Just get a 27" 1440p display that can overclock up to 120Hz... Link is here. Movies, TV, and games all look incredible on it.

no fancy 1ms monitor is needed to play decent, even screens with 10ms are fine, i currently use the sony 3d display that has a real world latency of 33ms, and i do just fine in main, and soon to be invite only tourny in November.
The benq are decent monitors, with washed out colors, bad black levels, but have fast responce times. not impressed at all by them, even the xl27.
i was looking at getting one of the dead pixel monitors, but i think i would rather a display that has a local warranty and something i can buy local incase of issues, i dont mind spending a bit extra to get that.
