Question about voltage vs celsius.

Hi there. I have seen so many different replys to this question I am only getting more confused, but I hope I would a final answer in here.

I am overclocking my 3770k on a closed water-cooler x40 from NZXT. I am now at 4.6 Ghz at 1.425 voltage.

Ive heard that maximum is 10% up from the default voltage. Which was like 1.250 voltage on my cpu. Which means my maximum voltage is 1.250 + 0.125 = 1.375 voltage.

And then some say that the maximum for that chip is 1.520 voltage (or something in that area). And others also say no more than 1.325 voltage.

Arguments vary alot from some people saying that its the heat that kills your cpu over time. So as long as I have ok on heat. Then there is no worries. Then you have some people who say that voltage kills the cpu over time so I should keep it low. And on top of that you have people who say "yes! your cpu will degrade from high voltage, but who cares? It will still last for 5 years and by that time you have allready replaced it".

Logically for me: More voltage = more electricity into the cpu = more heat. So voltage = heat. So if I am ok on heat... I am ok on voltage.

Am I ok with being at 4.6 Ghz at 1.440 voltage and 85 degrees on full load in prime95?

Its probably a little high on the voltage side ( I run the same on my SB chip anyway, they are a little more resilient)

Will it shorten the lifespan ? Sure.

Thing being it wont shorten it to where you would still be using the chip, as in the lifespan would probably go from 10 years to 8 at those voltages/temps.
