fx 4300 wont clock over 4,6ghz,failing occtd and prime..help if u can - Page 3

I upped my vore to 1.52(peaking 1.56) and still fails prime after a while..temp 50c full load..should i just go back to 4.7 maybe and lower the vcore again? 100mhz isnt all that..but ofc would havet Been cool with 1ghz OC mark biggrin.gif

3d mark occt and prime runs..no bsod or freezes..intel burn test goes good for 5runs no problem but eventually my 4th core will fail(been curing it with vore increase) but now i feel like i havet maxed it and it didnt got 100% stable..are u multiplier OC only or fbs also? I just run multi since i dont know to much about fsb OC etc:)
I use both fsb and multi but I am far from an expert. I still have not figured out which are the best incantations and chants, so only use 205-210 fsb.redface.gif

Did you really post that?
Max Temp on a 4300 72c and not 60c.

IF i dont run prime at all i can run 5ghz but it will freeze IF load is to big etc:) 4,8will work fine for all other Tasks exept vcore is rather maxed out and core failure in prime..however i bought the CPU for half the retail prize and it gave me 900mhz increase in cpu so i cant complain about it,but 5ghz stable would be the ultimate goal since load temp never goes over 50c.

#tried different aproach:

Fsb 250 x19multi(ht2500/nb2500/DDR 1600) for a 4750+-mhz running stable in prime@ small fft/large and blend for 4hrs+ tried an atempt at bumping up 5more on fsb but got "illegal sumout" on my develish 4th core..in BIOS i give 1,525vcore but seems like 1.55/1.56 peak max..can i then bump it more in bios or will this yeild even higher peaking?

Have ordered 2x noctua fans for my rad also:) more airflow and More silence under load:)

The thought of lapping my fx4300 has also crossed me,might help on lowering temp a bit,but mostly to "in a perfect situation" lowering the vcore needed for my overclocks at least 1bump down, might do same on waterblock, what do u guys think? Since my comp doesnt lockup or bsods it just needs More voltage for last core to pass!smile.gif

Did you even read what I posted? the max SAFE temp is 60c. You start running higher than that and you are progressively aging your processor. Dont take my word for it, how about an authority?

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-FX-Series%20FX-4300.html

EDIT: Still not convinced?

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1656813/normal-cpu-temps-fx4300.html

If you are running close to 70c then your cooling solution is insufficient.
