Is it worth to change cpu?

Thread Starter
Hi
I have an old pm45 chipset laptop which has radeon 4650m 1 gb ddr3 and t6400 intel processor.

I am trying to play dota 2 with that configuration. Setting everthing low low low. But playable, not good looking.

As i cannot change gpu, only part i found to change is from t6400 to t9400

Will it be worth to do it? It is only 20$, if it makes better like making settings medium i will do it asap.

I rather to sell but even buying a second hand 1.st gen 5650m+i5 will cost me 150$

I would rather sell the entire laptop and get a new one. Any upgrade at $20 is VERY tempting, but looking at the laptop as a whole, it needs more juice to run everything. Getting a whole new laptop will drastically improve performance of all your programs and games you run at the same time.

+1

The 4650m is really going to struggle these days. Even with a faster processor the reality is that most of the technology of the rest of the system is several generations out of date.
