I have a 8x2TB RAID10 array right now and while it's great performance and redundancy wise I really need more than 8TB of usuable space. 12TB sounds much better to me but I also don't want to take a huge performance hit (I regularly get 110-120MB/s transfer speeds). What's my best alternative for my storage needs? I thought about ZFS but as reliable as it seems to be it also seems to have a lot more overhead which would seem to equate to a performance hit. UnRAID is attractive but doesn't seem like I'd get any more perforance than that of a single drive. I'd prefer a non-Windows solution as I'm trying to get rid of my Windows 2008 R2 server currrently acting as my storage server.
