I don't think he was, it's fair to say that those who own Titan (or used to own on my own case) don't/didn't care about value and just wanted the latest, and greatest. His statement is wholly accurate.

I repented a bit. I do see what he is saying and I jumped the gun a bit. I've been monitoring some of the 290x threads. Man, some of the comments. headscratch.gif

But you do have a point on Titan owner's don't care for games as an added value. If you can afford a $1000 gpu, you are not exactly worried about getting more "value" with added games.

Hate to break it to you but AMD, Nvidia and Intel are in it for the money, not your friendship.

If AMD and Nvidia swapped positions, they'd be doing the same thing. There is no good guy.

Yes, I still clearly remember AMD releasing the 7970 for around $550 back when the GTX 580 was NVIDIA's best GPU. Not good. They are just as opportunistic when given the chance.
I'm not trying to be friends with any of these corporations. They have all done things to raise my ire at one time or another, including AMD.

I will say this: competitive parity benefits all consumers, least the CPU and GPU industries become stagnant like the hard drive industry.

AMD trolled us pretty hard with the 7970.

The 280x coming in with no games, while the 770 comes with three games 2 of which are not even out yet. That makes the 770 a lot more tempting *IF* you want those three games.
if you want the games sure, if not there is still a $100 chasm between them and the 7970 does have more Vram.

This is a good thing though, Good on Nvidia for offering a bundle for their overpriced GPUs - BUT the 770 and 780 still need a price cut.

7970 came in at $550, the price 3GB GTX580s were selling at during that time. While expensive it was still acceptable unlike the green teams $1000 GPU and $650 GTX680 ($500) replacement.

Sure if the 770 wasn't $100 more.
