I'm not entirely sure AMD was looking that far our either. Their APUs have given them an edge in today's marketplace for sure, but how long that will hold up is anyone's guess. I'm hoping, for their sake, that things like Mantle and APUs bring them back to the forefront.
LOL, it is was just all a coincidence that their APU matured as well as it did, winning them the two major console contracts? And that at the same time they developed a close to metal api for said consoles, and coincidentally incorporated that into Hawaii? And for two years AMD did nothing on the viewable gpu development stage... Did AMD just slap together Hawaii in the 8 months after Titan or something? Gee, I wonder what AMD was doing for the two years since Tahiti's release...
It was just all a coincidence that all these things happened and their timings have no relation to one another.
