[VC] 290Xvs780 In Non Quiet Mode At 2160P - Page 35

It's no coincidence that NVIDIA has just announced G-Sync. Perfect timing before the 290X release. My issue with G-Sync is that it could harm AMD sales more than a "faster Ultra Titan" etc ever could. G-Sync addresses issues post GPU in the display realm that haven't been able to be addressed sufficiently before. G-Sync introduced a whole new dynamic to the competition.

AMD will be locked out of that market as G-Sync will be proprietary. Once you have a G-Sync monitor, you are essentially locking yourself to NVIDIA GPU's. G-Sync is an amazing technology. I think this may have a larger impact on the balance between AMD and NVIDIA than most people realize. A strong AMD is good for everyone. I hope that AMD prices the 290X low enough to take a decent market share of new high-end GPU sales.

Can't wait for the price to drop, it will be hilarious if its $600+ Then the 5 parrots we have in here will go back into the shadows silenty, instead of spouting all the pro amd loves the consumer.

G-Sync only supports TN panel, having used IPS, I'd say no thank you.
Who knows, perhaps mantle have something that works the same way.

Just a fact of life in tech. As of drivers now, Amd in single GPU WINS HANDS DOWN Proven more times than not. CF has shown the same results in single monitor resolutions up to 1600. And by all accounts these 290Xs have no issues at all. Try reading a little and staying up to date. And yes this is the third time I have had to respond to your arrogance and ignorance.

Been happening with both sides here lately.

The thing with G-Sync is that it is a hardware modification, Mantle is an API, so it won't be able to accomplish it in the same way.

As for TN, yea I kind of feel the same, I have a 1440P IPS, but it seems to be getting old driving 1440P 120Hz. I have also seen some newer TN panels that look down right awesome when calibrated.

I personally have been tossing around the idea of going back to 1080P 144Hz TN, and see how I like it for gaming purposes.

I am missing what you actually are trying to say here as if you are proving something. With the performance thus far of the 290X, even at $700 it is a better buy than either the 780 or Titan. Of course as with most, I doubt it will deliver at that price. Now if you wish to have an adult reality based conversation by all means we can have it. But if you wish to entertain such childish notions then you and the few others that seem to have esteem issues or just hate the world can get together somewhere else and enjoy your AMD bashing. It has no place in an AMD thread. There are a number of new Nvidia threads that you can join and have a more susceptive audience.

I am not amd bashing, I am people bashing. Bashing a few of you in particular that is saying amd are promising a $500-550 price point, and swearing till you are blue in the face that amd would never go over that.

I am not saying it's not worth 700, I never said that. Though many amd fans in here are saying amd would never do that.

Way to be entirely over defensive though, I mean it couldn't be more obvious what side you prefer.

You don't see me defending either side, as my self esteem unlike yours btw is not wrapped up in either gpu manufacturers gpu's. The way you defend so fiercely with utter bias, then have the cheek to tell me my self esteem is wrapped up in gpu's, ha.

I don't care if people bash nvidia or amd.
