hi all! firstly i apologise if this is in the wrong section feel free to move

i just upgraded my pc with the asus sabertooth 990fx r2 motherboard /amd 8350 4.0 ghz /8 gb ddr3 ram cant remember the branding of the ram something like g-skill

rest of the components are from my old build

nvidia geforce 560ti oc edition
ssd hard drive with windows on it
normal hard drive with storage and some programs
800w psu novatech branded "quite good though"

the problem is that my pc randomly freezes, it can go for hours and may not be doing expensive tasks can just be browsing internet and full freeze no hdd light is on i have to hard reset. sometimes the mouse randomly stops responding...

i have tried updating the drivers, tried changing usb slots and bios updates to no avail. i have even tried replacement mb/cpu incase the one i got was faulty

any ideas guys? frown.gif

Nvidia has acknowledged similar problems with their latest drivers. They're working in it.

Sorry, don't have a linkey here at work.

What happends when it freezes? (black screen, desktop freeze...)?ç

Also, You could try removing the GPU, and trying an AMD gpu, if the issue stops, then you would know if the GPU or the drivers are what are failing or not, you can also try the beta drivers from Nvdia (maybye that issue get solved in the new release)

If you tried with other CPU and mobo then you are sure that the new ones are good, so I would think about GPU failure, becouse the PSU is enought for what you have (PSU overload can lead to freezes but as you said, this happends randomly, not just a high loads...

I hope this soon gets solved and you can enjoy that beast tongue.gif

Also april, add me on steam, as you added my old account, the link is down here on my signature, ill be glad to help.
