Switchable Graphics HD 7670M - Intel HD 4000 PROBLEM

Thread Starter
my specs are i5 3210m with 4gb ram and hd 4000 and hd 7670m graphics. while there is no fixed support by hp (and many users braging about it on the hp forums since a year or longer and hp doesnt release a bios update with fixed graphical options) im stuck with dynamic mode. it seems to work well with most games, mentioning diablo 3, bioshock 2, pes 2014, assassins creed 3. today i got myself total war rome 2 and it doesnt recognize the hd 7670m. there are also unresolved threads on this on the internet.

there seems to be no way at the moment (or in the near future) to resolve this problem conventionally.

now my question is: could i set the laptop to run a certain application using the hd 7670m, and then opening rome 2 to practically force it to use the same gpu. funny thing is, i already tried with diablo 3, apparently running on the hd 7670m - then starting rome 2 while diablo 3 running - still only hd 4000. this means there are two totally different graphics adapters running in one display at the same time? or just "dynamicly" running with this setup? seems like a bad joke to me.

any ideas on this? maybe a not by hp supported bios update with manual configuration - unlikely ... ?

i didnt just spend 50 bucks on a game i cant play normally just because there is some software switching problem.

please any help would be great

i've had a similar problem with my girlfriends laptop. But i used the Nvidia control panel to fix it, so it's not exactly the same.

Maybe these can help you if you didn't see them already:
