That way Nvidia will make money of this thing without being total douches towards their costumer base for people with old cards or people with and AMD card.Yeah it would be bad to be rational about this.
Nvidia is already charging for the board and it will add betwen 100/150 dollar to a monitor which seems to me like AMD users should either get what they pay for or the monitor should also be sold without.
You act like Nvidia invested money and so they have the right to push propietary which of course is true but them charging 100/150 extra for a feature that AMD users can't use is ludicrous.
It will simply destroy that specific monitor as viable purchase.
Nvidia should keep their hands of transceiver boards and Tcons and the connections between those this can only end bad real bad.
This is about the worse bout of logic failure I've ever seen on OCN.
It won't ever destroy that monitor as a viable purchase to AMD users. Why? Because if it weren't for this feature being announced, it would be the exact same damn experience for AMD AND Nvidia.
By adding G-Sync capabilities to the monitor, just makes there to be an extra purchase incentive for one side over the other. They both get the same base value out of the monitor, but one gets a perk.
Doesn't mean the monitor isn't worth it to AMD users. They just get less than if going with Nvidia. The monitor is still a completely viable product to purchase from both sides in the end.
Same thing goes with Mantle.
You just don't seem to understand that life isn't fair, and that neither side is going to ever get the chance to use EVERYTHING that the other technology provider makes. That would be a stupid business decision from both sides. Flat. Out. Stupid.
You have about the largest red glasses on right now on OCN, and its disgusting to see. You expect every side to get everything, and that isn't, and never will be the case. Both sides need different perks/products in order to differentiate themselves. Otherwise, we'd have pretty much the exact same GPUs coming from both sides, which if you've ever been paying attention, both sides are pretty much the exact same damn performance, give or take a few fps.
Its a sad thought that if AMD were the ones pushing this, you'd be jumping all over this with glee. Its disgusting.
