Storage drive with operating system on it

My friend has an SSD along with an old 1TB storage drive that used to have Windows 7 installed on it. He's wondering if leaving the operating system in the 1TB drive will slow down transfer rates between the two drives.

Any insight?

No, because the data on the drive that constitutes that installation of Windows 7 will just be seen as data. Yes, the current installation will recognize many files as being special Windows files, but none of them will be in use or in the way. I mean, it'll just be a bunch of dormant files that are just sitting there doing nothing.

It's a computer!
