Modem purchase help

My current ISP is Time Warner Cable and its time to stop renting a modem. This is the list of modems they recommend for using their service and since I have no expertise in such area I need your help.

Lite, Basic, Standard, Turbo, Extreme and Ultimate50 Service Plans

VendorModel
MotorolaSBG6580
MotorolaSB6141
MotorolaSB6121
NetgearCG3000D
Netgear CMD31T
Zoom5352
Zoom5350
Zoom5341J
ZyXELCDA-30360

LINK OF RECOMMENDED MODEMS

If it helps my router is a NETGEAR WNR3500L.

So I have two questions...

1) Which modem from the list to get for a gamer?
2) Is it time to upgrade my router and if so what would be the best options ~$100?

A cable modem is more or less a cable modem. You already have a wifi router so you don;t need a modem with wifi. If it was me I'd just find the cheap one with a single ethernet out to run to my wifi router, or maybe a 4 port just so I could make another node if I wanted signal somewhere I wasn;t getting it.

No reason I can see to upgrade your wifi. Even the thickest of home cable internet connections still can't saturate a wireless B/g link.
