What are you using as a source? What sound card?

Corsairs 2.1 is ok for the money, actually has decent drivers.

I would rather recommend the audio engine A2 even though its a 2.0 pair. It has high quality drivers and amazing bass. But its a controlled bass that's more realistic to the source.

Roughly $220

Or if you can afford a little more and want even more bass and higher quality drivers. Try the A5+

About $399.

These are good values(better value than the corsair for almost same amount), you get a lot for what you pay. They are also wood enclosures so it should help the bass quite a bit.

Awesome well that's a good DAC for the price. Pair it with some good speakers and you'll be happy.

not being in AU not sure about the pricing or best places to buy from and since it is rather a huge place i guess that could influence your options if you are in Sydney say you could doubtless find stereo stores or whatnot to maybe source something local and / or might well have a robust used market to choose from?

anyways the Swan speaker recomendation is solid those will blow the klipsch or corsairs out of the water.

Swans AU webpage has two dealers listed one of which is these guys..

http://www.myav.com.au/epages/mymy7204.sf

another option i like (because it is what I have done) ... used stereo gear (or t-amp) plus bookshelf speakers

looking on y'alls ebay saw these straight away..

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BOSTON-HD5-BOOKSHELF-SPEAKERS-/300983127015?pt=AU_Hi_Fi_Speakers&hash=item4613fe0be7

pair them with say this

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MUSE-M50-EX-TPA3123-T-Amp-2x50W-Mini-Amplifier-w-Power-Supply-Black-Silver-/251283959730?pt=AU_Electronics_Audio_Amplifiers&hash=item3a81b0efb2

and see how it goes adding a sub if you find it required later? you could choose from a world of bookshelf speakers and any number of t-amps (my t-amp is a SMSL SA-S3..it is quite nice) but blah blah Topping SMSL and Muse all seem to be relatively decent and nice looking.

not sure how much they cost in AU but in America the Cambridge Audio S30 bookshelf speakers cost about $220 US so those paired with t-amp might be an option dedending on AU pricing. The S30 are widely regarded as having good amounts of low end (for their size... they aren't magic but for little stand mounters they are good in this regard).

If you have any music instrument type places nearby you might also go in there and see if they have some studio monitors to demo you might also consider monitors.
