Windows 7 overclock boot loops Windows 8.1

So I'm throwing this out there to see if anyone has come across it yet, I have not spent a lot of time on it yet and I'm looking to see if anyone can piont me in the right direction.

I have a 3770k on an asrock z68 board overclocked to 4.6, and a dual boot setup which is now running windows 7 and windows 8.1. My 4.6 settings will boot fine into windows 7, and have worked for months on it, when I clean installed Windows 8.1 pro it boot loops with these same settings, however if I reset cmos it boots and runs fine. I can also boot fine it I only change the multiplier, and leave everything else on default motherboard settings, I have tried turning on all C states, but that's about all the time I've had for it so far.

I know I don't have enough Info for you guys yet, but any tips you might have would be appreciated.

Just to update this, after booting up in safe mode to see if it would, it now boots fine at 4.6ghz. I'm not sure why booting into safe mode had any effect on it, but I'm glad it works now!

And a side note: windows 8.1 gives a noticeable performance increase in BF3, higher minimum framerates on average. Approximately a 15fps increase in minimum fps spikes. smile.gif I usually have my fps capped to 120 so I can't speak for average overall fps, but my lowest is now a lot higher and that makes me happy.
