They say production of 20nm chips starts in February so maybe a little more than 6 months?

the fab is providing 20nm to apple first. best case scenario for AMD 20nm gpus is probably August-October 2014, so about 10-12 months from now. I don't think it's possible to see them release a 20nm gpu before then. If I were to bet on it though, I'd say release will be in December 2014.

So worst case scenario 15 months?

yea that's what I'm thinking.

I am going to run a wild guess that a die shrink of 290x run @ higher clock with memory @ 7GHz.

I just remember that I was actually listening to that conference call but after about half an hour I got bored and went to a party.
Should've stayed at home and listened.

As long as Intel has a significant node advantage and more importantly has their gimp everything that is non Intel compiler at large there is no way.
It says that the node will be 28 and 32 for most products so I guess we'll see 20nm GPUs and 14nm chips for tablets and notebooks (and hopefully phones).
Carrizo however might be 20nm steamroller.

Hope, everything is alright. It's my first tread.

"Within next 2 quarters" is within the next 8 months....

Most people don't use Intel's compiler's though....
