pclinuxos install problems - Page 2

thank you all for the suggestions, I wish I would have read them sooner. I unplugged my windows drive and tried installing on my spare drive and now I have to manually select my main drive to boot to windows in bios every time I boot or it tries booting from my unplugged spare drive. My windows drive will manually boot from the boot manager in uefi bios but It is not on the display where your supposed to be able to slide drives around to set boot priority so I cant save my preferences.

Are you talking about DVM? My options were entire disk, entire disk with dvm and encrypted dvm. No other options out of the ordinary.

I think "cause" is a great reason why. I want to learn. Thats what we do right? Its frustrating but when you succeed it is very rewarding IMO.

edit - I fixed my boot problem, I just had to set the boot priority from the advanced tab in uefi bios and it restored my boot sequence in ez mode.

In my experience 'cause generally isn't enough. For this like a lot of things in life there needs to be a real reason practical or philosophical. I think for most its practical for me like most things I change it's philosophical I simply don't trust Apple, google et. al any more.

This is all my opinion after years of watching widows user switch to OS X which is an easier transition.

as always YMMV

There is a video safe mode or something like that choice at the install prompt. Try that I had trouble with PClinuxos and the Full Monty version but this fixed both problems. U can then get drivers if neede once installed.
