Not sure how much it's improved stability wise since launch

I finally got around to playing it a few weeks ago, 8 hours in so far.

Not a single crash. GPU usage stays very high when setting are at max. I lowered mine to keep 60 fps and temps down. Card runs about 70-75% usage like that.

Just started a thread with similar issue, my GPU is throttling down the usage in Crossfire mode after a couple of minutes of playing.

I'm also thinking about buying 280x but my 950 is OC "only" to 3.6GHz

I'm playing BF3 on Low Setting (except 1080p; Mesh Ultra and MSAA 2x)
Will do same with BF4, so that won't matter

But other games in SP like Tomb Raider, Crysis 3, etc. will CPU be a huge bottleneck or should I go with 270x?

the i7 950 at stock clocks doesn't even come close to bottlenecking a 280X, you could Crossfire them at a stock clocked i7 950. My issues wasnt bottlenecking it was thermal throttling, go with the 280X its a beast. Just dont get the MSI version as it seems to have a lot of issues

i can walk all over tomb raider maxed out with a 7950 in my sig rig. so you shouldnt have a problem. i tried it with my 7950 on my old i5 750 @ 4ghz and it ran just fine. and that was for the sake of testing tomb raider.
