Freedompop Viability

Thread Starter
I am thinking of canceling my phone service and using Freedompop http://www.freedompop.com/home.htm I would then use Google voice and talkatone/groove ip for calling/texting on an android phone.

What do you think of this? Do you think 500MB per month is enough? How about the quality of VOIP over 3G?

VoIP over 3G isn't going to be viable, I would strongly suggest keeping the cellular service portion.

I have one of the Wimax dongles from them for a Raspberry Pi, seems to work OK, speeds around 3 mbit or so pretty consistently on the $0 plan.
