Will a 1100T bottle neck at 280x and a 290x? - Page 3

Single card? No, it wont bottleneck. Crossfire 280x's would be close. I used to run an overclocked 1055t and my crossfire 7950's weren't at 100% utilization in every game

direct a fan towards the NB and mosfet heatsinks on your motherboard. a better cpu cooler will help, especially if you move to an 8300.

@op, we have the same motherboard. with a good cooler and the guide above, you should be able to oc to 4GHz easy. i can oc my chip to 4.5 GHz with that board but my thuban is watercooled. gets an 8 in Cinebench. 4.3 is my max oc for gaming but 4GHz is plenty.
Thanks, I've checked a lot of guides so far, but gave up an year ago. In every guide, there is one main thing - temperature, which I can't see, so it ends here for me biggrin.gif
I've "successfully" overclocked few cpus, but guessing a temperature on this one is not a very good idea.
A better cooler? I thought 212+ is still fine mad.gif

212 is good for a Phenom Quad. if you are idling at 35C, then you might pass prime 95 for 12 hrs. over 35C, not a chance. you must maintain 55C and below for thuban to behave well at load. i know the gigabyte's NB gets hot. you need to blow air towards it and the mosfet heatsink, especially when oc'ing.

check my load temps in BF4 at the pic i posted earlier. i saw my temp go above 50 in BF3 maxed. ambient will dictate your final results as well.
