Basically, the front headphone jack on my case had stopped working, so I decided to swap my system into a case I had lying around (Fractal Design Core 1000), but the 212 wouldn't quite fit. So why not just trim the heat pipes down, right?!?

well.... at lest NOW you know w/o a shadow of a doubt what kind of wick/heatpipe the 212 is made from smile.gif

pic is abit small but it looks like mesh wick. not the best, but not the worst either smile.gif kinda expected it from it's performance and price range.

I've had this CM Hyper 212 Plus for a long time and have never taken the time to install. I would buy the fan off you as well. I'd like to run two fans on it for
the summer months.

Thanks

Sure, I'd be happy to give them to you, but I'm in the UK. I'm guessing you're in the US?

I might have those..PM me

Why can't you just crimp the ends shut?

I use some "Silenx Effizio 120" I guess it works pretty good..for air

..IF my WC isn't operational..which isn't very often tongue.gif

XD says this cooler is better than 212+ ..i think Frostytech does, too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835214023&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-CPU+Cooling-_-Enermax-_-35214023
