ASRock Z77 Extreme 6 and i7 3770K OC Voltage Question

Thread Starter
Hey everyone.

I just overclocked my 3770K to 4.3GHz. My question is related to the reported CPU voltage by the ASRock Extreme 6 motherboard. I know that the voltage it is reporting is way off compared to what the CPU is actually receiving. I have set the LLC to level 3 and put in an offset voltage of -0.050V (should be an actual voltage of 1.250V). The motherboard reports the voltage, while under load by Prime95 and FurMark, as being 1.176V. I am approximating that the actual CPU voltage is around +0.040 volts which equates to a voltage of 1.216. Does this sound like a fair assessment? I can test the voltage with a multimeter, but my case does not have an open area for me to access the back side of the socket and I really would like to not destroy all of my cable management by pulling out the motherboard. Thanks for any information you may have! This is my first overclock with an ASRock and the voltage issues are driving me crazy. I understand that the voltage is likely safe, but some people around the internet are talking about the Extreme 4 and Extreme 6 boards reporting almost 0.1V lower than the actual CPU voltage. If this is true, I will not attempt to push the overclock anywhere beyond 4.3GHz. Thanks!

Also, I'm having trouble getting a stable overclock while running FurMark with Prime95. The overclock is 12 hours stable with just Prime95, but within 30 minutes of running FurMark alongside Prime95, a worker or two will stop because of rounding errors. Is this a normal issue?

seems like you need more voltage. If you're running any overclocks past 4.2/4.3, you should be increasing the offset voltage, not decreasing it.
