Well, it's performing really well in 3ds Max viewport smile.gif

I know that CUDA wise is just average, but I'm fine with that. I'm already thinking in case I'll need CUDA power horse I can always add a second video card biggrin.gif

I'll investigate about the LED, but it seems none of the Q-CODES is about errors though, apparently it's just initiation routines...

congrats pser, on ur new setup, would like a small review on ur setup , as I`m stuck between the i7 or the xeon 2620 dual. Is working in after effects or Photoshop slow. smile.gif

PSer if u got the time and enjoy pc hardware etc...

make a sig rig
then go benchmark etc..
and give us few pics also a review on the rig and how good i is with ur work

( check on the software u use about cuda, some of them have to install special drivers or patch or maybe do a hack to enable the acceleration with Quadro etc)

Thanks for the advice Fido smile.gif

I'll surely do that.
Busy all week end working though, but as soon as I'll get some spare time I'll prep the benchmark and shoot some pictures smile.gif

julesbgoes, I'll try to prep a review, even though I've no experience whatsoever with i7 or GTX, a part from my notebook but that can't be compared to a workstation.

Hope to get back soon!

well if u want to compare or give him idea

u guys can help each other biggrin.gif he can send u a OBJ file or MA file etc.. with ready camera and lights u just open that scene in maya or 3d MAx then render it and tell him how long it takes to render 1 frame then he can get perfect idea of the performance

Oh yeah that would work.
I could test the scene on my machine, only I can't test on a i7 build but at least is a start smile.gif

julesbgoes, if you want we can arrange a demo scene and test it out.

I worked for years on my MAc Core 2 due 3.06 Ghz biggrin.gif 1st unibody edition from macbook pro 15"

but at least now when I have the desktop with 3770k I can't go back and work on my laptop anymore
the difference in power and render speed is like quality of Playstation 1 and ps4 LOL

Coming from a Dell XPS experience as well, an i7-2630QM with a GeForce GT 555m. It worked pretty well actually, but couldn't keep stressing it out with renders and particles smile.gif
This weekend I'll have time to prepare benchmark and pics.
In the meantime I've got a reply from Asus about the Q-Code and the long wait when I turn on the machine.
I should try enabling a "Fast Boot Option" in the Bios and disable "Wait for F1 if error".
Turns out my bios needs to be updated in order to get these two options, something honestly I wouldn't deal with (updating the Bios always makes me feel uncomfortable). On top of that I should also clear the CMOS, and if I'm not mistaken something that I can only do by switching the jumpers on the MOBO...

keep testing the machine, I'm not 100% sure about the Quadro. In case I'm thinking to check if I can return it and change with a GTX...!
