750 enough for o/c 8320 and 7850?

Thread Starter
I have an Ultra LSX-750 (supposed to be one of their few decent power supplies), it's got a single 12v rail @ 58a.

Using the extreme power supply calculator online, I get results in the upper 500s up to 750w if I get a little overboard.

m5a97 Evo motherboard (970x) which I would assume is mainstream
xonar dg pci card
CPU 8320 (currently testing @) 4650mhz, 1.5v
GPU 7850 @ +30%, 1.225v, 1100/1400 (usually)
2 sticks DDR3 @ 1.65v
1 Momentus XT 750 Hybrid drive
2 high performance 120mm fans
3 LED 120mm fans
1 120mm fan
1 80mm fan
2 200mm fans
1 12" LED/UV light strip
USB devices - ps2 keyboard, razer mouse, belkin n52, wireless gamepad adapter, usb hub for wireless media keyboard/extra controllers, smart card reader, webcam/mic.

Throw in that the board and power supply are a few years old, that I stress the system for o/c testing sometimes, and I put high-end mobo just for ****s as well and I get close to that 750w limit. Now when I stress the CPU all those USB's aren't being used, most of the fans are on low and I underclock the GPU just in case.

Am I due for an upgrade or am I still alright?

it is not the "best" psu, but it's more than enough for that rig thumb.gif

your rig should be good enough for max settings in most games, with the exception of few

You're alright.

You could power two 7850s in your current system if you wanted to with that psu.
You will be fine. You'll have a bit of overhead too.
Yep as mentioned, you have so much headroom you could put a 2nd 7850 and overclock that too.
