Hi guys
I would like to know how you are all doing with your overclocks.
Im not interested (in this thread anyway) on Benching, but i would like to know what Rock solid OC's you have acheived and are using 24/7.

just keep it simple Format i.e:

My OC on WATER

4.7 Core
45 Uncore

Vcore 1.385
Vrin 2.05
Ring 1.210

ram xmp on @2400 16gb (2x8)

HT on

Max temp: 74C after 3-4 hours gaming.

Cheers

havnt played with a 4470k before, but i do have an i7-4770k which is haswell as well so we both are at the same boat, first im interested to know what cooling your using, however, generally speaking those temps are way high , i mean 74C after gaming is way high, that means that you will easily reach 95-100C after stress testing with an ibt or prime95 which is NOT GOOD, my 4770k is oc to 4.5ghz currently and my temps hover around 75-80C with ibt and prime95 and around 65-70C with aida64 after 10 hours of stress testing, and it never and i mean never went above 55C when gaming even after long hours of cpu intensive gaming like battlefield 3 and starcraft 2, im using corsair h100i btw

i dont know about you but i can only trust my pc is stable and start gaming on it with my mind in peace after i pass stress testing for 8 hour at least using the tests mentioned above (ibt, prime95 and aida64) and i think you should do the same brother thumb.gif
trust me you dont wanna be owning a good battlefield 3 game to suddenly be hit by a pesky BSOD

sorry typo in the title mate.
well i have delidded naked chip on a xspc full copper block
1 x single 80 mm monsta rad
1 x double 80mm nmonsta rad
1 x triple 30mm xspc rad
all in push pull

idle temps 20C
70C is the highest i have seemn during any gameplay.
Im unninf 7680 x 1440 in eyefinity with settings on ultra hbao on AA on MSA x 4
solid and fixed at 59FPS

it stresses the CPU mate trust me 70C after 3-4 hours of that is good.thumb.gif

okay try intelburntest, it is the most intensive stress test out there, and it only takes like 5 mins or less:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Benchmarks/IntelBurnTest.shtml

if your pc can go through 10 cycles and temps dont go above 85C, then you can rest assured that your temps will never go higher, cz nothing makes the cpu overheat more than intelburntest

still, i wouldnt trust the pc to be 100% stable after doing intelburntest only, i mainly use it to make sure my temps wont go so high, u dont wanna let your cpu overheat in a proper stress test that goes for 6 hours or more, i still would go through at least 6 hours of prime 95 or aida64, aida64 being more recommended for haswell chips, dont know why but thats what people say

btw im almost 100% sure your cpu is gonna fail the intelburntest or your temps is gonna go up to the 90's at least rolleyes.gif, cz i know what ibt can do, do the test and report back im really interested to know the results bro wink.gif

Well i may do that .
However im not really interested in benching which i mentioned in my thread.
I only play BF3 so if i can optimise and stabilise for that im happy.

Im not sure i want to do risky BURN test if its already doing what i want it too and is doing it damn well.

its all relative mate.
dont worry, a software based stress test will NEVER damage a cpu and there is no risk at all, a cpu will turn itself off when it overheats long before it damages it self; overheating never damaged a cpu, and hey its true that playing bf3 online is damn intensive to the whole pc, but still i dont think its enough to guarantee 100% stability, and im talking stability here not benching, trust me i have been through many bsod while playing bf3 online and it feels terrible specially when your owning, then i started to do all this stress testing stuff im doing (15+ cycles of ibt, 6+ hours prime95, 8+ hours on aida64) maybe you think im a little bit paranoid, but many do as i do, as i told you it gives you peace of mind and assures that your pc will never drag you down however hard you push it, maybe its just my way of thinking.
after all, its is as you said . . . all relative.

well, okay, so my i7-4770k is overclocked to 4.5ghz and my ram runs at 1600 9-9-9-24, 100% stable, max temps during gaming is less than 55C and less than 75C during stress testing, im using a corsair h100i cooler, and a g1 sniper 5 mb. thumb.gif

sorry again mate, i just wanted to help thats all hypocritesmiley.png
