290X in uber mode (higher voltage, fan speed, power target etc. so possibly higher clocks than normal mode)

It's significant how close it is to the Titan though, the Titan is crazy expensive and I think we are seeing why the 780ti is coming out.

Did you guys look at the benchmark? It makes zero sense, this is worse than the chinese leaks.

Finally test using real world resolution, 4K is way too expensive for most people. I would be interested about 290X overclocking results at maximum voltage (1.25 - 1.3v?).

How can you say that? On Dirt: Showdown at 5760x1080 on MEDIUM, one 290x on Uber mode beats 780SLI! tongue.gif
Or how about on Hitman Abosolution on 1920x1080p on MEDIUM where the r9 290x edges out the 270x but the 270x beats the 7990. The 290x could not beat 280x or even the 7970ghz, however. What a shame.
Ah man, 290x>270x>7990. It's official. wink.gif

If those charts hold true the 290X performs on par or better than the Titan in every game at high resolutions. And the card hasn't even been out yet to have mature drivers.

I think it's obvious that the 290X is shaping up to be the best GPU for high resolutions.

E: downloading the charts now.

Good that you found the maxed for 1080p.

For Far Cry 3, I wouldn't call that as a win for Titan because the gap is very minute. In fact, if they redo the bench, I believe the 290x might lead the Titan by a small margin as well.

Btw, some games are not fully maxed out such as Far Cry 3 and Crysis 3.

haha yeah.

I only looked at those that looked reliable and at that polish stuff. Seems to beat the 780, but not by 25% as some people were expecting.

I personally am waiting for TPU's review before making up my mind as to where it falls relative to the 780/Titan.

Don't really think they do the best reviews, but I do think they provide the best data for relative performance positioning of cards.

Not as strong as previous benches showed, but lower resolutions also. Should beat 780 nonetheless.

Hope it's not more expensive than 780, but wouldn't be surprised
