Is this possible? Help Me Decide?

Hey all smile.gif

Having a bit of a head scratch here. This is mainly to do with gaming, but either way that's irrelevant of this question.

I already own a Creative X-FI XtremeGamer however my new board boasts a Realtek ACL 892 with Creative Sound Blaster Cinema.

Now before you all say, yes, I know the X-FI XtremeGamer gives superior sound quality (deeper sounds). I can tell the difference in sound quality.

However, the onboard audio has some really sweet features such as sound positioning and the ability to increase the volume of dialogue, so it gives a richer experience in my eyes (well, in my ears wink.gif).

But problem is, I'm not sure if this is possible. With the discrete XtremeGamer you have the ability to remap channels, in other words, my rear L/R speakers can be swapped.

Due to the layout of my room the "Right" rear speaker needs to be my "Left" if that makes sense. Because I don't have any sockets on my right. So essentially for my surround I need my "Right" and "Left" speakers virtually swapped otherwise the sound direction is incorrect.

Question: Can you do this with the onboard Realtek audio codec? Or is this impossible? frown.gif

Thanks all!! thumb.gif

EDIT: Also forgot to mention, my X-FI does have issues now and again, also drivers are a pain.
But I was curious about using all the features available on this board too.

No I don't mean that. I mean the same speakers but swapped.

Don't worry I've been searching, and a simple option popped up that I did not even think of, just went straight over the top of my head.

A simple Y splitter cable to swap the wiring channels redface.gif

Yeah that would work, 3.5mm to RCA splitter.
