GTX 780 Ti - 699
GTX 780 - 599

More money for 192 more cuda cores? Total ripoff IMO

But if they do this

780 Ti - 599
290X - 549
780 - 499

Win

for people with 780s/titan already it would be a waste imo, for new people wanting to jump into nvidias 7xx series cards i can see a lot going for the 780ti over a regular 780.

i was still hoping this would be a 2880 core monster card with custom pcbs allowed frown.gif lol

PEOPLE CALM DOWN. I actually read the chinese's guy's forum post. It seems he is borrowing someone's gpuz picture and his comment seems to be just estimations. But if this is a 2496 cuda core chip, I am either going for titan or 290x. At least 290x is a full die.

If anyone want to me to translate the whole thing, I might be able to. My chinese is not as good since I been in NA for a couple of years now.

isn't that where the entire concept of value adding comes in. Some people buy a Ferrari worth a million and cry over a +200$ gas bill. Some get similar performance from a 25000$ hyundai and a slightly larger or comparable fuel bill and are happy. You buy something that you feel is worth your money.

I know you didn't build your own pc and paid a "professional" to do it, what because of all that money and lack of knowledge you have, but you do know the difference between a cpu and gpu right??? Cos this is kind of about gpu's, just sayin.

AMD has been doing it here lately themselves. Do yo think they gave all the reference 7990 early adopters their $300-400 back when they dropped the price a couple of months later? How about the people that were foolish enough to pay so much for the 9590 to have it replaced with this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113351

AMD is not immune to screwing people either. wink.gif

RC, you make it too easy to dislike you, so easy that it makes one almost like you......

If Hyundai were crap, they wouldn't have the consumer and professional ratings that they do. If AMD was crap, they wouldn't be around either, truth is AMD offers an awesome product.

As for Lexus; Nothing more than a re-badge Toyota, with an inflated price tag, and a few neat options to make you feel like you aren't getting ripped off as hard as you are. The Lexus name, and Acura name, were all created to appeal to the American Consumer and their idiocies towards brand names.

Foreign auto makers figured out that if they just put a different sticker on the front, Americans would be willing to spend more money.

As for what Nvidia is doing here; Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahaha!!!

Just the other day we were all sitting here trying to figure out where the hell the Ti would fall in. Everyone pretty much agreed it would be stupid to put it between the 780 and Titan, no way they would be so dumb.

Looks like Nvidia is that stupid!

Unless.....

Stay Puft is correct in that the 780 will drop to $499.

Apples to oranges there.

How about a Mustang Shelby Cobra (amd) vs Porsche turbo S (Intel)

Both cars perform well.. Both cars handle well.. You can have fun in both cars.. The mustang is more of strait line car and can go fast. The Porsche is better at handling and doing road courses and can bounce off the line with its awd.. But in the end spending 60k for a Mustang is just more reasonable and you have just as much fun as a Porsche turbo, and not have to spend 180k..

There we go thumb.gif
